It is hard to believe the holiday season is upon us! I hope you are all able to enjoy and celebrate the important people in your life and are taking every opportunity to experience the value of presence over presents during our #GiftPresence campaign. Let’s also b-aware that many young adults have to redefine what the holidays mean for them this year. Some are in the midst of a cancer battle as patient or caregiver, some are survivors readjusting to life beyond treatment, and some are bereaved friends or family members still trying to figure out what “celebrating the holidays” even means without their loved one there. I encourage you to find ways to #GiftPresence that give them comfort, hope and joy during their new version of “the holidays.”

In addition to our #GiftPresence hashtag, please also consider using #MyHolidays and share your redefined holiday story to let those having to reinvent their holidays know that they are not alone. Special thanks to Vivian Nunez, young adult founder of Too Damn Young, for creating this empowering campaign and holiday reminder.

As we approach the end of 2019, I want to say THANK YOU to our family and friends who have stood by us, donated their precious resources, volunteered their time, and inspired us to keep going. I am so proud of what we have accomplished this year, and know it is 100% because of all of you that we are moving forward and up. We are better with you and stronger together.
