About This Session
In this third learning community session, we’ll explore the challenges and opportunities that influence how social support needs are identified and addressed in AYA oncology care.
Building on findings shared in our first two sessions, we’ll examine the factors that help or hinder the assessment of social support needs across diverse clinical settings.
The discussion will focus on Research Question 3:
What barriers and opportunities are clinicians and administrators encountering when assessing AYA cancer patients’ social support needs?
Together, we’ll explore:
- Organizational, staffing, and workflow barriers
- Challenges related to time, resources, and program structure
- Patient- and family-level factors that impact assessment
- Promising practices and innovative approaches emerging across programs
- Opportunities for collaboration, research, and future implementation
